Trial the actual mix of sections you intend to cut, not one attractive sample. Record the drawing revision, steel grade, wall thickness and stock length for each tube or structural member. Then observe loading, clamping, recipe change, cutting, unloading and remnant handling as one batch. Accept only measured parts against agreed tolerances and a written safety scope.
Build a trial matrix from the real order book
Our Xiamen production base's HLC-350 page lists round, square and rectangular tubes alongside channel, H-beam and other special sections. This is a family-level capability statement, not an accepted size range for every proposed build. Select representative material from each section family you will actually process: the smallest and largest envelope, a thin and a thick wall, and any open section with difficult support or clamp access. Do not substitute a demonstration-grade stock piece for your contracted steel.

These are trial categories, not a promise that one HLC-350 configuration accepts all listed sections. If the proposed work is mainly heavy structural sections with bevel or marking operations, compare the separate HLC-750 machine route against the drawings rather than inferring its functions from HLC-350.

Record each section, drawing revision, agreed inspection method, actual measurements, setup time and accepted part count. Keep rejected parts and operator interventions in the record; leave untested profiles marked as untested.
The worksheet is a buyer working document, not a machine specification, safety certification or agreed acceptance contract. Confirm the trial conditions and pass criteria in writing before testing.
Time the whole mixed batch, including changeovers
Ask the supplier to run the chosen sequence in the same order as a representative production shift. Start the clock at stock presentation, then record feed alignment, clamp or support changes, file or recipe selection, first-off adjustments, rejected starts, accepted cutting, sorting and usable remnant. A quoted cutting speed alone does not tell the buyer how many conforming parts leave a mixed batch. Keep the setup and accepted-output counts separate, and note every operator intervention instead of treating our Xiamen production base's general “automatic” description as proof of unattended operation.
Measure the part and verify the process scope
Before the trial, agree who measures each characteristic and with which method. At minimum, use the drawing datums for cut length, angle, holes or notches, and any edge-quality or heat-affected-zone requirement that matters downstream. Inspect more than the first part: retain first-off, middle and end-of-batch samples. Compare actual measurements with the tolerance in the purchase document; there is no universal tolerance, output rate or cost per part established by the photo or this guide.
Also witness the proposed enclosure, interlocks, fume extraction, loading guards and access for maintenance. OSHA's laser safety technical manual discusses protective housing and ventilation as part of industrial laser hazard control. The destination's applicable requirements and the selected machine's safety documentation must be reviewed by qualified personnel; a marketing video is not a safety certificate.
Questions buyers ask
Does a HLC-350 product photo prove that every tube and beam size will fit?
No. Request the offered machine envelope and run identified samples from the smallest, largest and most difficult sections in your own schedule.
Should a buyer judge the line only by cutting speed?
No. Include loading, clamping, recipe change, first-off adjustment, unloading, scrap and accepted parts when comparing a real mixed-profile batch.
Can a tube laser cutting machine replace a flat-sheet cutting bed?
Do not assume so. Our HLC-350 product page lists tubes and structural sections, not a flat-sheet cutting bed. Review sheet or plate work as a separate equipment requirement.
