Direct answer
Before accepting a light steel floor-framing machine, trial the exact member schedule that contains the project's service holes and connection features. Mark each part against the approved drawing; check opening position, edge distance, notch and tab geometry, and whether the specified mating members assemble. The machine photo and a list of optional tools cannot prove those results.

Separate a floor framing member from a profiled deck sheet
This guide concerns light-gauge framing members with utility openings and connection details. A profiled metal deck sheet is a different product with rib and cover-width acceptance; use our deck-sheet trial guide for that task. Send the section drawing, steel grade, thickness range, opening and punching layout, member schedule and target output for the actual floor framing system. The building engineer remains responsible for structural design and for approving any openings or connection changes.
What the production-base example establishes
our Xiamen production base's official HLG-300 page describes a named light steel framing deck system and lists service-hole, web-notch, fixing-tab, lip-notch and hole tools. This confirms that these operations are part of that published model's described tooling scope. It does not prove every tool is included in a future Halcyon quotation, that all project drawings fit a standard tool, or that a particular sample has passed inspection. Ask for the offered configuration and the tool drawing by name.
| Trial item | Record on the sample | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| Service opening | Part ID, drawing revision, hole shape and location, measured edge distances | Does the approved service route remain clear? |
| Web and lip notches | Tool ID, notch position and remaining material geometry | Does the part match the engineered detail? |
| Fixing tabs and holes | Tool operation, mating part ID and dry-fit observations | Can the specified connection be assembled? |
| Production sequence | Job file or setup, member marking, rejected and accepted samples | Can our factory team reproduce the accepted revision? |
Keep the trial inside its boundary
Take samples from the same steel grade and thickness range intended in the purchase. If a tool change, different hole, alternate member or new engineering revision is requested, record it as a separate trial or written change. Do not treat a photograph, nominal forming speed or the presence of a punch station as structural approval, utility clearance, certification or acceptance of the complete floor system. Confirm the final member and connection schedule with the project designer.
Questions buyers ask
Does a catalogue service-hole tool cover every project opening?
No. Compare the offered tool drawing and actual sample with the engineered hole shape, size and location. Request a custom-tool assessment when they differ.
Can a good isolated joist sample prove the connection?
It can verify some dimensions, but the intended mating members still need a dry-fit or assembly check against the approved detail.
Who approves moving an opening?
The responsible project designer or engineer must approve a design change. The equipment supplier can explain its tooling limits and trial the approved revision.
Check joist and truss-member scope separately
When the member schedule also includes joists or roof-truss members, review the joist and truss-member line scope against their separate section and connection drawings. A floor-member service-hole trial does not establish that another chord, web or joist can use the same rolls or punch tools. Keep the member forming trial separate from the engineer's approval of the assembled structural system.
Next step for a matched proposal
Compare our HLG-300 equipment page and CFS equipment family with the proposed member schedule. Use the separate job-file compatibility guide to check file import, then send the profile drawings, steel grade, thickness range, punching layout and target output for a written tool-and-sample plan.
