Direct answer
Ask for an FAT evidence pack that can be traced from the approved documents to the tested machine state and finished samples. At minimum, identify the drawing revision, trial material, setup record, test sequence, labeled samples, measurement results, deviations, corrective actions and sign-off status. Video and photographs support the record but do not replace measured evidence.

Freeze the documents before testing
List the approved drawing, machine scope, electrical standard and acceptance method used for the FAT. If a document changes during the test, record the revision and the effect on the remaining checks.
Identify the trial material and machine state
Record steel grade, thickness and coil or sheet identification when available. Connect the material to the final tooling, guide, recipe and cut-off settings. A video without this context cannot prove that the ordered condition was tested.
Keep labeled output and a deviation log
Label samples so measurements, photographs and videos can be traced to the same run. Record failed or incomplete items, the agreed corrective action and whether re-test evidence is still required before shipment.
Buyer review checklist
| Review item | Evidence to record | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Approved documents | Drawing, scope and acceptance revision | Defines what the test is intended to prove |
| Trial material | Grade, thickness and material ID | Connects the result to the tested input |
| Machine state | Tooling, recipe, guides and cut-off setup | Makes the accepted condition traceable |
| Output evidence | Sample IDs, measurements, photos and video | Combines visible and measured results |
| Open items | Deviation, owner, action and re-test status | Prevents incomplete points from disappearing |
Questions buyers ask
Can a factory video replace an FAT report?
No. Video can show sequence and visible operation, but it normally does not provide complete material identity, setup values or measured acceptance results.
Should buyers request every machine parameter?
Request the parameters and evidence defined by the order, risk assessment and acceptance plan. Do not create arbitrary limits that were not agreed.
What happens when an FAT item fails?
Record the deviation, responsible party, corrective action and required re-test evidence. Shipment status should follow the contract and written approval process.
Information to send for an order-specific review
Provide the profile drawing, steel grade, thickness range, punching layout and target output. Add the destination electrical standard and the required acceptance method when they affect the line scope. These inputs allow a supplier to discuss the actual application without inventing a configuration from a generic catalogue model.
